Holiday Dreidels

Holiday Dreidels Holiday Dreidels

Try these clever ideas for presenting a dreidel game to someone dear at Hanukkah. If not used for Hanukkah convert the idea into another type of game. Used these ideas as a basis on which to expand your ideas.

Make a paper dreidel box (below) to hold candies, nuts, or any other kind of game counter. Using our template, cut out card stock, stamp or handwrite the four Hebrew characters in the areas that will become the sides, and then fold and glue.

Give Hanukkah gelt, the chocolate coins (left) traditionally used by children for mock wagers, one of these stylish wrapping treatments: In one, small glass canisters are lined with decorative paper and filled with coins. A name tag on top and a paper sleeve with an interlocking dreidel icon template are the finishing touches. Another stack of coins is swathed in blue crepe paper, decorated with a band trimmed with a craft punch, and cinched with thin ribbon.
